I have been given the important and powerful role as Shelter Break Warden, which means I am raising money to post AGAINST participants' bail and keep them locked up and raising money longer! If your boss, spouse, or coworker is locked up and you want to keep them in there a little longer, this is the place to donate. (I won't ask whether your intentions are kind or nefarious, but I will make sure your donation is applied against the person you choose!) This means your donation will have to be matched for the person to get out, so your donation is essentially doubled! We will maintain law and order at the shelter and make sure that only the most earnest Canine Convicts and Feline Felons get out. Donate to my counter-bail page today!

ABOUT Shelter Break 2018

Help us raise money to bail the dogs and cats at Roice-Hurst out of the shelter!

Join us at the first annual Shelter Break and break these pets out of the shelter for good! Friday, June 22, 2018 from 9am-4pm at Roice-Hurst Humane Society (362 28 Road).

What is Shelter Break? At Shelter Break, members of our community will be “locked up” with our dogs and cats for a day to raise money for Roice-Hurst Humane Society. These Canine Convicts and Feline Felons will raise money before and during the event to post their bail. Throughout their lock-up, they will help us all understand what it’s like to be a shelter pet waiting for their time to go home and will raise funds to care for these pets in the meantime!

How do I participate? First and foremost, donate to this page! You have been invited to help a friend, family member, coworker, or even sworn enemy raise money for the animals at Roice-Hurst. Click on the green "Donate" button to the right and follow the prompts to make your donation. In the event of a sworn enemy, a boss, or a partner you want to keep locked up to have a little extra time to yourself on June 22, contribute instead to the "anti-bail" of Warden Anna to help keep someone locked up as they get close to meeting their bail goal! Just note in your donor message whose bail you want to contribute against and Warden Anna will make it happen.

How else can I participate? Consider becoming one of our Canine Convicts or Feline Felons like the person above who invited you to contribute! Your time in lock-up is a wonderful contrast to the busy life you lead, giving you quality time with a homeless pet that appreciates every moment of your time and attention. Take time away from work to gain some perspective and empathy for these animals awaiting their forever homes. What’s more, you (and your company) will have valuable exposure on social media as someone who cares deeply enough about animals in our community to spend a day in their paws. Click here to have us create a fundraising page for you or on the "Create a Page" button to the right to create your own.

Click the "All Fundraisers" button to the right and browse all the personal fundraising pages to donate to the bail of any of our Canine Convicts or Feline Felons. Feel free to join us throughout the day on June 22 and see our inmates and their penmates, or join us for a celebration barbecue catered by Rib City at 4pm in our side yard. You can also donate treats for the people and the pets to be handed out during lock-down!
